Fall Prevention

Has an older adult in your life fallen recently?

VNA Community Healthcare is tackling this serious problem - fall related injuries.  According to the Connecticut Collaboration for Fall Prevention, falls are the leading cause of unintentional injury among older adults.   The CDC reports people over age 75 are five times more likely, after a fall, to be admitted to a long term care facility.  Click here for more information on the serious consequences of falls.

Slippery side walks and snow covered driveways can make the risk of falling even higher in the winter.

We are currently offering programs for families and older adults focusing on practical tips for reducing falls.  VNA Community Healthcare's Fall Prevention program draws upon the recent research of the CT Collaboration for Fall Prevention.
